GeGI Imaging Measurements at a Live CBRNE Training Exercise (2016)

In a live CBRNE exercise the GeGI detected, located, and quantified Cs-137, Pu-239, depleted uranium, and HEU across six targets, including a real-time estimate of about 85 grams of U-235.

This measurement set documents GeGI imaging during a live CBRNE training exercise across six targets. The imager located and quantified Cs-137 and Pu-239 inside a 55 gallon drum, detected and imaged a shielded depleted uranium sphere behind aluminum and high-density polyethylene, and localized HEU in an enrichment area with a real-time estimate of roughly 85 grams of U-235. It also resolved Pu-239 in a criticality safety array and in vertical piping at standoff, returning gram-level mass estimates from Compton and pinhole images. The exercise shows quantitative, real-time source identification and localization from safe standoff.
