The Fulcrum-40h HPGe detector follows in the footsteps of the original PHDS Fulcrum (12% relative efficiency) to provide a 40%-efficient HPGe detector in a compact, lightweight package. The proven onboard PHDS OMNI software application provides an intuitive interface for state-of-the-art isotope identification and real-time exposure rate calculation. The Fulcrum-40h provides the gold-standard in isotope identification in an easy-to-use package for users of all levels.
Fulcrum-40h HPGe Detector Operation
If you can operate your mobile phone, then you will have no problem operating the Fulcrum-40h. This brief video demonstrates the simplicity of the Fulcrum-40h user interface. Data acquisition, isotope identification, and activity quantification are available at the touch of a button.
Easy-to-Use Touch Application
The Fulcrum-40h OMNI software is designed to provide fast, reliable isotope identification in an intuitive interface. Simply click the Play button and the onboard algorithms automatically detect and identify any isotopes in the surrounding environment. Color-coded isotope ID badges provide threat characterization at a glance, allowing Fulcrum-40h operators to quickly assess the radiological situation. For more detailed analysis, OMNI incorporates PHDS ISOTAC software, which provides field-level isotope activity calculations.

Product FAQs
The Fulcrum-40h weighs just under 10 lbs. Each battery adds 1 lb, and the neutron detector option also adds 1 lb.
The Fulcrum-40h is easily hand-portable for field operations, measuring 10″ x 6″ x 9″ (25cm x 15cm x 23cm).
The Fulcrum-40h cools from room temperature to operating temperature in about 5 hours.
Each internal battery of the Fulcrum-40h will operate the system for about 5 hours. With the 2-battery configuration, the battery life is about 10 hours. In this configuration, the batteries are also hot-swappable, which allows continuous operation for as long as charged batteries are available. The Fulcrum-40h can also operate on an external BB2590 battery, which provides about 15 extra hours of battery life.
